Holmes HAWF2030 Dual Blade Twin Window Fan with Thermostat

bare minimum
The spec says that it is manually reversible. That actually means that you need to take down the fan, switch the side, and put it on back on the window again, just to change the direction of the air flow.

Horrible fan!
I bought this fan from Wally World for $20 and got totally ripped off. Luckily I can take it back. Yes, you can reverse the fan by pulling it out of the window and flipping it around. - Can you imagine engineering a product to do this rather than installing a reverse switch? The other bogus thing about this product is that it's super weak. Even on full blast, it barely creates a breeze. Total waste of electricity, and time. After reviewing a few other fans, I purchased the very similar, yet superior Honeywell fan which I kid-u-not, blows twice as hard and has a reverse switch on it. The Honeywell fan actually blows cool air in and out as promised. For $5 more, get the superior Honeywell from your favorite French Big-box store with a huge target on the front.

Fan is too weak to be called a fan
Do NOT buy this fan. It it so sorely underpowered that it only just moves the air in front of the blades. It's so impossibly weak that it's difficult to tell which direction is doing what! Spend $5 more on the Honeywell, just as all the other reviewers state.

Westinghouse 7226565 Xavier 44 Inch Ceiling Fan, Brushed Nickel Finish

Very Cool
This fan is Money! I put it up in my living room and hooked it up to a Lutron Fan / Light Dimmer Switch. I can control the brightness of the lights and the speed of the fan from the switch on the wall. The fan is very powerful yet very quiet. At full speed, you can't even hear the motor, just the sound of the blades cutting through the air. The lights are perfect for my large living room. I have the lights directed to highlight parts / items in the room that I want to be seen. Instead of lighting the whole room, it provides great ambient / mood lighting (Especially with the dimmer). There is plenty of light, it obviously wont work in a kitchen unless you have other lights to supplement it.

Westinghouse Fan
I love the lighting option on this fan. It's far better than the typical dome lights. This is a quality built fan without a noisy motor.

The only thing we had trouble with was that there were plastic parts inside the motor compartment to protect it during shipping. We didn't see anything in the directions about removing them. This created a noise but as soon as we call technical support they knew exactly what we needed to do.

great modern fan
This fan was bought to remplace a 70's or 80's fan in my living room that had a cathedral celiing. the decor in my home has been updated and is quite modern. This fan looks great with all my furniture and wood work. the finishes are great with the exception of the pulls which are quite cheap and basically just plastic disks. Besides that my only complaint would be that this light is not meant to be your main living area light. It only puts a spot light in three different areas around the room which is fine as long as your living room is bright and open and you have other sources of lighting. We replaced the bulbs with led replacement bulbs for efficency and they work fine. The fan was easy to install and runs very smoothly and quietly. I would recommend this fan.

Polar Aire Industrial Grade 3-speed High-velocity Fan, 12-inch, Black

Quality breeze
My well-stocked hardware store was out of large box fans to replace a busted one from my bedroom window. I reluctantly selected a 12" Bahama Breeze floor fan expecting I might need to return it. No need. It fit well in my window, in spite of a rather short sill. The surprise was how powerful it is. Even the lowest setting gives a good cooling stream, and the highest setting is great exhaust to circulate hot afternoon air out of the house. Exceptionally well engineered and constructed compared to the disposable plastic box fans I've used in past. Not the quietest, but then not jarringly noisy either. Easy carry handle and face tilts easily. Two thumbs up.

hard working solid performer
Bought this on a HOT Labor Day weekend. It was all that was left on the floor. It blows the hot air out of our South facing bedroom (13' x 14') and the three speeds are nice. We use HI when not in the room and Low at night. The low setting is fairly quiet.

Glad I bought it. Has aluminum fan blades unlike most others use plastic.
EAsy to use and light. Glad I did not opt for the 18 inch fan, that would have been much louder.

Fantastic
We use this fan for ventilating a repair room at my job and it is quieter than the last fan we had.

KitchenAid : KCDS100T Continuous Feed Waste/Garbage Disposer 1 HP Motor MultiGrind PlusTM Technolog

Good for grinding things?
How do you review a garbage disposal? This one was bought to replace one of the same model that's chugged along under my sink for 10 years. It's powerful enough to grind up human remains if need be, and quiet enough that your neighbors will never suspect a thing. Mounts without a fuss, didn't even have to call the nosy plumber. I'd say I'd purchase it again, but I already have purchased it again.

Impressive
I bought this machine to replace a 15 year-old model. There is simply no comparison between the two. Everything I did not like about the old one is fixed in this one: it is quiet, it grinds stuff up like crazy, and the shiny stainless gives the inpression of build quality. Where the old one sputtered and fussed, this one doesn't even slow down AND did I mention that it is quiet? What a joy.

Very pleased with this 1 HP KitchenAid
My 8 year old 3/4 HP "builders grade" Insinkerator gave out. It was so loud and vibrated my stainless steel sink so much that it occassionally woke up my 16 month old son one story above. I became intrigued that some disposers were marketing quiet operation. After reading many reviews, I settled on this 1 HP KitchenAid. I gloated over this purchase to my wife for about 2 weeks. I am thoroughly pleased with this product and don't regret upgrading (i.e. spending a little extra cash). The motor is very powerful and quiet. It utilizes a thick, flexible rubber connection to the discharge pipe, which drastically reduces vibrating the sink and plumbing (a major source of noise from my old disposer). The sink inlet interface is also designed to decrease noise. Long story short, this baby is probably 80-90% quieter than my old disposer. Here is a helpful heads up that I don't remember reading in other reviews. At first I thought the disposer was deffective because the grinder action...

Mini Storm High Velocity Multi-Purpose Air Mover Blower Dryer Fan For Ventilation Fume Extraction Carpet & Floor Drying

Good for solid floor drying
Got this to help dry basement floors after a wet summer. It worked well and looks exactly like the photo. I got this because of the compact size-it is not too big for a small person to pick up and move. The cord is very long, which was a nice surprise. It can be used as a fan, in a place like a garage. It tilts up at about a 45 degree angle and stays set. I did not give 5 stars because the item is classified as high velocity, but it is not as "high velocity" as what I expected. I know what a commercial high velocity floor dryer is, and this isn't it. But it is good for home use. It also is classified for use for carpet drying. I don't think it would work well for that. Hard floors, like concrete, it works for.

its ok
Less powerful than I was looking for. I would upgrade to the larger unit next time I needed a fan.

Small and Quiet
Bought three of these to use in a 104,000 sqft. office. They move a lot of air and are quiet enough not to interrupt presentations. The purple color is great because that is one of our company colors. Also it makes them quite visible. This should help keep people from tripping over them. Floors dry quickly and they will air out a stale room in no time.

Minka Aire F803-RD Artemis 58 in. Indoor Ceiling Fan - High Gloss Pure Red

Great Fan
I have three of these fans in my Art Gallery. They were installed 4 years ago. Their style and function are beyond wonderful. They are quiet, move large volumes air without a lot of turbulence, and have constant admiration of my customers. Yes the blades are plastic but if you could mold wood into that shape they would be cost prohibitive. Guests don't believe me at first when I tell them they are plastic. I wish I sold them in my store because so many of my customers have liked mine so much they have bought them. I am buying my fourth one today this time for my home. They are that good.

It's PLASTIC!!!
The fan is fine, but from all the pictures, the text, and the price, you would think it was made of formed plywood (think Eames). But NO. The fan blades are molded plastic painted to look like wood. They did a nice job with the painting, but it's still plastic.

On opening the box, I felt I'd been tricked.

A great looking fan, very quiet, with solid performance
The Artemis fan moves a lot of air in almost total silence. It looks like a sculpture. The fan goes great with 8 foot ceilings. It comes with a short 3.5 inch downrod and is itself a pretty low profile fan so it works very well in 8 ft ceiling rooms.
It's made from extremely high quality engineering plastic (polycarbonate) - the best choice ecologically (recyclable), functionally (wood is inconsistent and hard to balance) and economically (it would be hard to make it in wood for less than several thousand dollars apiece (there is an Italian fan with real wood blades by Boffi - very different in appearance but also nice - but it costs more than five thousand dollars).

Honeywell QuietSet Whole Room Tower Fan, HY-105

Great for a Dorm
I am a college student with a small/medium sized dorm room, and this fan is perfect for the space! I was surprised at the other reviews because it is EXTREMELY quiet, even on the highest setting. The little blue light on it isn't all the bright, but for sensitive sleepers I'd suggest just taping a piece of paper over it or facing it away from you. It is convenient for the space, cools the room, and makes it feel refreshing when I enter. It is stylish and, most importantly, really allows for a great amount of cool air flow throughout the room. For $50 at Target, GREAT BUY! :)

Strange noises and bright light
I bought this fan yesterday and will be returning it tomorrow. The size and shape are perfect for the room, but that's the only good thing I can say. I sleep with a fan every night and bought this for the bedroom. The first thing I noticed was the bright blue light. It's very distracting while trying to sleep. Then I started hearing a strange noise coming from the fan. It was almost like it was trying to turn, but was stuck and scraping and it wasn't even set to rotate! It also didn't give as much of a breeze as other fans I have had. Overall, it was a bust. I was excited about the remote and sleep timer, but it's going back anyways. If it was being used in the living room or other busy area, it would probably be fine.

Superb product - am I just lucky!
i purchased 4 of these about a month ago, gave 2 to my grandchildren (their mom likes them so much she uses them in the kitchen and livingroom during the day), 2 for my household. it leaves a small footprint, it's light weight and easily portable, quiet enough to sleep with (I am an extremely light sleeper). Shut-off timer is great ... no need to wake up to turn it off at 3 am.

I am about to purchase 2 more. Every product has its occasional lemons... I hope you have the same luck that I have had.

Danby DDW1809W 18" Built-In Dishwasher - White

THE LITTLE DISHWASHER THAT COULD
I had never heard of Danby until I started looking for a small under-counter dishwasher for a small space. Then I discovered that Danby is one of the biggest companies nobody had ever heard about. (Note that the review template from Amazon doesn't mention the name.) Those who had used the units were satisfied and so I ordered one. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise. The unit was easy to install (though the instructions were confusing) after cutting out the opening, but the surprise came when we started using the unit. For one thing, it calls for a rinse product as well as dishwasher soap, and for another, it has a built-in water softener, very important here in western Minnesota. What blew me away was how clean the thing got our dishes, even without the rinse product. I've had Kenmore and I've had Kitchen Aid, and THIS IS THE BEST DISHWASHER I HAVE EVER HAD! Especially for under $400.00, shipping and all! I may change my tune a year or five down the line, but this little Danby is...

Nice Dishwasher
My fiance and I ordered this little dishwasher through a local appliance store to replace an older dishwasher in our apartment. We ended up paying $274 w/taxes as it was immediately discounted $50 for qualifying for NJ Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate. Delivery was smooth and installation was not difficult (~1.5 hrs). We read a lot of reviews online and it seemed that this one had the best balance between price and rating. We could not be happier with our choice. The machine is quiet and does a wonderful job. There no need to spend double the price on other dishwashers as it has many features of full-size dishwashers; if space is an issue.

When you wash upon a star!...
This is a great little space saving machine! It cleans marvelously, is easy to use, and features a stainless steel interior! It really surprised me with how well it cleans. Dishes came out sparkly.

I think this little machine does a better job than some of the older, larger dishwasher models for sure and the price makes everything sweeter.

The rollers on the bottom make it easy for one person to 'install' and move as needed.

Mechanical dials are simple and durable.

I am glad I purchased this machine.

This Danby is a little star!

GE GTWN5250DWW 3.9 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer - Energy Star

Will never buy another GE appliance
My GE GTWN5250D[WW] washer is just 2 yrs. old (maybe less) and it is unusable and needs over $700 in repairs. The tub came loose from the washer! The symptoms we were experiencing were 1) VERY VERY loud unbalanced loads 2) sopping wet clothes even after 2 extended spins 3) black marks on clothing.

Search for reviews. They are out there and on the whole, they are not good. I wish I had been more diligent in my research before I bought mine.

BTW, this model has been discontinued by GE.

Amico Portable Small Cartoon Apple Pattern Battery Green Fan

Decent portable fan.
Moves enough air to make a difference.
Don't expect to use the included lanyard. I have two of these, and both fall out of their cap, hit the floor, and eject their batteries every time we try to use the lanyards.

big blast of air
This little fan packs a big wallop! I wasn't sure because I buy little fans for my purse and they never seem to give out enough air to cool me off. But I had to try this and I am so glad I did! It is small enough to fit in my purse and it gives off enough for me. It only has one level and that is more than satisfactory. I have hot flashes and I am warm all the time..this fan works just great for that situation. I definitely reccomemmend !

Great little fan for kids
I bought one of these for each of my grand kids. Nice little fan that cools them off in summer but won't hurt them as the blades are plastic. Nice and portable, they can put it on a chain and wear it around their neck or stick it in their pocket.

I was expecting an upgrade from a lower unit I bought a few years back. This one is basic and loud. It works; but wish more effort was devoted to noise suppression.

Fragile. Plastic handles.
I expected these fans to be fragile, and they are, but all fans like this are fragile. That is why I had to buy more of them... I was only disappointed by the fact that the handles are plastic and not metal like the ones made "back in the old days." Overall, good value for the price.

Japanese Silk Handheld Fan, Light Purples with Golden Butterflies HF185

Pretty, Lightweight Fan
I gave this fan five stars because it is exactly what one think it would be; it is a lightweight, pretty fan that fits easily in a purse and opens and closes fairly smoothly with a little help (it's a sensu fan, not the abanico type that you can snap open and shut).

The butterflies are picked out with gold outlining; very pretty.

Pretty and Quality
My daughter has been asking for a fan like this, but I was reluctant to get one because the ones I had as a child were always so flimsy & cheap. I ordered this because it appeared to be higher quality than your run of the mill japanese fans and I was not disappointed. It opens & folds smoothly, has a beautiful design and seems so far that it is not going to start coming apart so easily. It was definitely a hit with my 7 year old as welL!

Japanese Silk Handheld Fan
The fan is beautiful. I am well pleased and would purchase another one. They make special gifts for any occasion. I highly recommend them for seniors.

Broan QS230BC Allure II 30-Inch Under-Cabinet Range Hood, Biscuit

Quiet and good looking
My handyman installed this without incident. The appearance is sleek and modern, complementing a stainless range. The fan is not tool loud and works well for the rear burners. One feature that is a bit disconcerting is that it exhausts some air from the top of the hood to cool the light bulbs. It makes me wonder if this is why it captures less fumes than I would like from the front of the stove.

UPDATE 12/05/09 FIVE stars!***** Based on advice in the first comment on my review, I had the installation checked, and in fact, the baffle was diverting part of the exhaust from the duct to the top front vents, as though it were a ductless installation. Now there is no more exhaust air at all coming out of the top front vents. I did a smoke test, and the hood now draws from the front burner area. This hood, properly installed, works as well as it looks--and that is saying a lot. Check R. Parkinson's comment for advice on correct installation of the baffle.

Fan works great on ONE side--shipping was excellent
Exhaust fan looks great, but I'm a little disappointed that the fan motor is only on one side instead of in the middle. The exhaust pulls great on the left side of the stove, but not as good on the right and the detailed instructions with the exhuast fan even tell you that the right side will not exhaust as well as the left. I wish this fact was also included in the description of the product. If so, I may have bought another brand. If you are installing this fan, make sure you take off the section on the front where the lights are mounted which will gain you better access to installing the exhaust fan under the cabinet. The instructions do not tell you this and if you take that part off before you start installing, it's a lot easier. We found this out too late after my husband had screwed in the back part to the under cabinet. Make sure you order the halogen lights which add so much to the brightness of the cooking area. The product arrived so quickly we were pleasantly...

It's So Alluring and I Can See the Light!
This is a great hood that looks sharp above my new gas stove -- much better than the old microwave with hood! I really like the fact you can use halogen bulbs, which make things really bright for cooking. There are 3 fan speeds and 3 light settings. I'm very happy, even though my setup is ventless, it still gets the job done -- quietly, too. The fact you can use this in any configuration is a wonderful feature. Thanks, Broan!

Very Powerful Fan and artistic for months
very powerful wind. It might take alittle practice to effectively blow off hot air within your room out towards your window. I like to blow hot air inside my room out the window's direction. Because the truth is this fan is alittle stronger than your electric generator fan. After awhile the wooden sticks into the paper opens up the slots alittle bigger but it lasts for several months perhaps good for 2 summers. If only it was made from water-proof material I'd love that.

2 in 1 Bladeless Hot & Cool Fan Heater with LCD Display, Oscillating, Tilting, Remote control & Timer

Great!!!
I have owned many fans in my time, and this one is the best. I was looking at Dyson bladeless fans and, although I was interested in the technology, they seemed to be very over priced. When I saw this fan using similar technology at a much better price, I thought I'd order it and give it a try. I am completely satisfied with the results; it's relatively quiet, and even so the air flow is powerful and spreads the moving air much wider than my old bladed fan ever did.

Worked Good For 1 Day, Then Died!
I purchased this product and used it for 1 day. Had the perfect spot for it and everything. It wasn't near anything or stuffed in the corner where air can't circulate behind it. It was in the open. NEW WindStream 20 Inch Oscillating Super High Velocity Stand / Floor / Pedestal Fan. Easy to Clean Blades with Durable All Steel Safety Grill, 3,083 Cubic Feet of Air per Minute, UL Listed - Moves double the air of a 16 inch stand fan.

The WindStream is a winner!
I'm impressed with the power of this fan. My previous fan was a cheap model with 16" blades, a 40-watt motor, and moved under 1000 cubic feet of air a minute - which is ok if you just need a soft breeze. However, if you need to move air, this fan has 20" blades, a 90-watt motor, and moves more than triple the amount of air.

I live in a rectangle shaped apartment with few windows. The air-conditioner is in the bedroom at the far end and not enough cool air makes it into the rest of the place. This fan does a great job of pushing the cool air out into the rest of the apartment.

This is easily the most well-constructed fan I have owned. I did a lot of research before making this purchase. If you need to circulate a lot of air, this is your best bet.

It's also worth mentioning that the folks at McDeal's were super efficient at processing my order.

THIS FAN IS NOT A TOY
We bought the Windstream 20" fan away from Amazon because of price and shipping considerations. Still, it was about 3x the cost of the generic 16" fan available from box stores.

Assembly takes one person and a strong screwdriver. Note that the heavy-duty power cord is grounded and needs a 3 prong outlet. Note also that the base gets attached with screws so that the fan cannot be easily disassembled for flat storage. The cover is easily removed for blade cleaning.

This fan is not a toy. The 90 watt motor and 5 shaped blades blow a lot of air in a tight stream that can be felt at 20 feet on high setting. Yes, there is noise commensurate with the speed setting.

Recommended for those needing a powerful standing fan.

Windstream 20" Oscillating Fan
Very, very good fan. Easy to assemble, blows very powerfully, and prety quiet for it's size. Plus, I think it's going to going to be more durable than some of the cheaper fans. I would definitely buy agian.

Air Vent Inc. 24" Whole House Fan 54301 Attic & Whole House Fans

A Great Fan That Can Be Installed To Be Very Quiet
I've put in three whole house fans over the years. I installed this one a few days ago and am very pleased. I deviated from the instructions in two ways to reduce noise. First, I never follow the advice to put the fan in the middle of the house. I put it as far away from the master bedroom (no children) and around as many corners as possible. In this case, after finding I had an unusually tight-fitting garage door I put it in the ceiling of the garage. My door fits so tightly I can see no light around any edge, so the fan will produce a vacuum in the garage and pull through the door to the house if blocked open. That put it even farther from the MBR and around more corners than anywhere else in the house. Second, I stapled dark gray foam pipe insulation, the kind available in 6' lengths at HD or Lowe's, around the bottom and outside edge of the wooden fan frame. I cut one of the lengths of 1" insulation in half lengthwise and wrapped it over the bottom and up onto the side,...

Amazing Results
I can hardly believe how effective this fan is. Our home is not an open floor-plan, so we used to struggle with getting airflow in different rooms. This whole house fan creates a nice breeze throughout the entire house (1800 sq ft). I installed this in the center hallway, and I can feel the air drafting through the furthest windows. Since you do not need to cut through ceiling joists, I was able to easily install this by myself. The most difficult part was ensuring that everything was centered before cutting through the sheetrock. I also wired this to a switch and left it on the high setting instead of using the pull chain. I work very slowly and methodically so it took me 6 hours to install, but an experienced handyman could do this in half the time. Throw away your window fans and invest in a whole house fan. You will be so happy that you did.

A very quiet Fan...
This is a really great Fan! After my $[...] rebate from my electric utility, I ended paying about $[...] for this item. I performed the installation in accordance with the instructions and this unit is very quiet, other than the whoose from the wind going up into my attic. To be truthful, I was fearing the noise but this unit makes less noise that my stove exhaust fan! I am a happy camper with this deal, when it switched on it produces a nice cool breeze inside my home. My advice is use the template that comes with the fan, take your time, and follow the simple installation guide.

Good luck with your next project!

This fan is a classic example of you get what you pay for. Its expensive in comparison to others but is a quality product. The fan is whisper quiet on all speeds and moves more air then one would expect. The switches are high quality and work with precision. It looks and feels quality. I looked for a fan that had a timer so I could set it to turn off when i wanted. I found only a few hence my desire to spend more money to get the features I desired. All in all I am happy with my purchase of this well engineered fan.

Quiet, sleek, & a great addition to the office desk!
I received this earlier in the year as a birthday gift and I highly recommend this fan! It's sleek-looking, and fits nicely on my nightstand (I originally placed it on my home office desk). It has great timer settings - so whenever you forget to shut it off, it will automatically do so! Makes a perfect gift!

Others I work with have gone out to purchase as well after seeing how amazing this little fan works. It's nice to turn on also to drown out noises and distractions in the office around me it provides just a enough of a faint hum.....almost like white noise. The three settings allow for better control, ESP on hotter days.

Vornado V6 Flippi Personal Fan,small, Black

small profile and reasonably quiet
I have just moved to a new office (cube) and I sit next to a window that acts as a greenhouse. I generally like to be cool rather than warm. I had a table fan that I purchased a few years ago but it was larger and noisier. I have a large working surface that acts as a soundboard. Thinking about my colleagues at work I decided to find a small but quiet and effective fan. This fan meets the requirement so far and I like the color, it matches the rest of my hardware (computer, monitors, coffeemaker etc). It also has a modern and attractive appearance. It does not oscillate but the position of the fan head can be adjusted. I did not want an oscillating fan. I like air on my face.

There is one minor design item that I don't care for (My old fan has it too). When the fan is switched on it has to be switched to the high setting before the low setting. It's noisy in the high setting (It has two settings). Why these fans cannot go from off to low and then high I don't know. I will...

Get this for the office
I saw one of these on a co worker's desk and immediately bought one on Amazon(tm). It is rotatable and aimable and is completely quiet which the other team members will appreciate. It is sturdy plastic and attractive.

Terrible
Very noisy and not much breeze. Noise got worse after a few hours run time and it started drooping such that it would not point forward.

Deluxe Necklace Fan By O2 Cool - Battery Operated - Blue

Necklace fan that works great
This fan is wonderful and really works. I use it shopping in the stores and it is a life saver. Definitely recommended lots of people ask me where I purchased it. The batteries seem to last a long time, one day I had it on for 8 hours and it was still working at the end of the day. Great gift plus one for you.

Portable Bladeless Fan Mini w/Color Changing LEDs

Junk
Well the subject says it all. Oddly enough I ordered this accidentally. Well my phone did! I turned off the One-click purchasing option shorty after.
I did however open the box to put the RA slip in and noticed the horrible packaging. It wasn't even in a manufatures box.
It was such a horrible product for $20 I felt I had to write a review to save someone else from making a mistake.

Thin Plastic
LOUD!
You need to have it 2 inches from your face to notice a "Breeze" I wouldn't categorize as much more than a light breeze.

It looks as though there's a tiny fan in the handle that draws air from the vents and then out through the ring... not even close to a dyson.

Don't buy it.

The bladeless fan
The product sucks! Does no blow far, or put out a lot of air. This fan was not what I thought it was going to be. Is not worth the 20 dollars I paid for it, with no Prime shipping available. Would not recommend for even a toy.

Ok
Operates ok for a small fan however it is very loud. I bought this to use as a desk fan at work but it's too loud and would probably cause a distraction. So now I plan to use it as a tent fan when my son and I go camping, hopefully we will be able to sleep through the buzzing humming noise.

Miele Futura Classic Series G4205SCSS

How do I love my Miele?
Let me count the ways. I mistakenly ordered the model without the cutlery tray. I got on the phone and less than 24 hours later every piece necessary to (easily) install the tray was delivered to my doorstep.
I LOVE the tray. I LOVE the quiet machine. I love how it doesn't have a handle to bump my leg. I love how the water sprays around inside and how clean and spot free my dishes are. I love the many ways we can load all of our odd size dishes, pots and pans.

This is without a doubt the very best dishwasher we have ever owned.

Nice Machine
The Miele 4205 replaced a 17 yearold Miele G575 model.

This time we went with the cutlery tray option (instead of the removal basket) and really love this feature. Cutlery no longer get jammed together and get really clean. Tray also holds about 12 complete place settings (spoons, knives, forks) as well as serving utensils.

Sound, virtually silent. In fact, the only time we hear it is right at startup when the machine clears the water pump (2 seconds) and then it's silent.

The bottom "plate and pots" rack is the best on the market. We prefer the plate holding configuration of Miele vs the all slanted tongs used by other manufacturers. Must less risk of plates banging each other. Bonus is that without the basket, the 4205 now holds much more than the G575. The bottom rack configuration was the deciding factor to go back to Miele vs a similar featured Bosch.

The mid-tray for glassware, however, is not as good as on the G575. Happy to...

STOP
I own the Miele 2142 which was rated #1 last year by various sites and Miele is still ranked highly with JD Power, as one quickly learns while sitting interminably on hold with their tech support department. Don't be fooled. The Miele replaced a Bosch which ran without issue for over a decade. Miele is the worst appliance I have ever owned. It does not clean well, it does not dry, it requires regular "desoaping" with white vinegar as well as cleaning the trap and refilling the Rinse Agent frequently. The service department is inane, and tries to explain that the poor drying is because it is "European and Green." Please, spare me. And now back to putting a fan in front of the overheated unit while waiting for a technician to come (one week is the soonest) for the third time this month. If you're reading this review, it is likely you can afford any dishwasher model but that is no reason to pay more for an inferior product with substandard support. Pay less and get more. Horrible.

Broan F403601 36-Inch Two Speed 4-Way Convertible Range Hood, White

Easy install, works as expected.
I put this in to replace a 45 year old Broan exhaust fan. The fact that the prior fan lasted so long encouraged me to find another Broan. The fact that this fan was about the best priced basic 36" Stainless Steel I could find sealed the deal.

Installation was very easy as I already had the duct work in place. The "walls" of the fan are a bit thin, so caution is needed when installing. However, this is labeled their "economy" fan, so that is definately expected.

It is not whisper quiet, but I think the noise level is fair for this price point.

I would not recommend this to somebody remodeling thier kitchen and wants some lower priced "nice stuff". Spend the extra $100 or so and get the next level up. For my situation where I am holding off on putting anything "real nice" in the kitchen and I had to replace an old exhaust fan that broke with bad timing as we plan our remodel, it was perfect.

Simple and sweet
This range hood moves plenty of air for our needs (it does move fewer CFS than some other models - which might be an issue depending on how you cook). It was easy to install and works as promised (I am using the top 7" round vent option). My only complaint is that the box isn't well padded, so the hood arrived with a dent on the front. It's too heavy to bother shipping back for something that is only cosmetic, but it was disappointing. The light cover isn't very fancy, but we bought some of the smaller compact florescent bulbs and one fit under the cover with no problems. The plastic vent cover for the front is a bit tricky to snap on, but once I figured it out it wasn't loose at all (it sits on the hood without being snapped into place, which may explain the complaint of another reviewer). I love the simplicity of this hood, and the number of installation options. Overall, it looks and works as I had hoped and I can still talk easily while the fan is on.

Great-looking vent hood!
This stainless steel vent hood is very economical and good-looking for the price. Not high end, but we are remodeling for resale, so it suits our purpose quite well. Fast delivery and packed well.

Equator Upright Freezer, 1.4 Cubic Feet, White

This fridge is quiet, maybe too quiet.
I have been working at an office for about 2 and half years. And about nine months ago my boss asked to set up his old mini fridge
in the office because he had no use for it at his home any more. Well I went and decided to set up the fridge inside a cabinet nearly big enough for the appliance. At first it seemed too quiet I even thought it might have not been working properly, but sure enough it did. Four months had past and I had load up the mini fridge with my lunches and drinks time and time again. And so I noticed that my co-workers were still using their lunch bags, and so I asked them about it, Their response was "if only we had a fridge...". "Yes if only we did" I responded then proceeded by sneaking my lunch out of the fridge.

Overall I have had an amazing experience with a USED Equator mini fridge, I'm sure anyone who would love a hidden fridge would enjoy this quiet and really almost maintenance free(cleaning) fridge.

Igloo 3.6 Cu. Ft. Chest Freezer Frf434

If this becomes available again, I suggest you snap one up
I've had mine for about 6 months and I don't know how I got by without it for as long as I did.

It's not frost-free, so at first I was worried that I'd have to be scraping it down all the time. I had bad memories of old freezers with inches-thick ice on the walls. Well, the ice just doesn't build up like that in this freezer. Yes, there's some frost, but it never gets past the point of a thin layer that scrapes off easily. AND, when the contents have contact with the walls, no frost develops there at all.

I can fit SO MUCH in this thing, yet it still fits comfortably in a corner of my small-ish kitchen. To give you an idea, it's a tiny dinette in a San Francisco apartment...so, not very big! But the freezer still fits okay even with a full-sized dining table.

Very highly recommended! Bonus: No noticeable difference on my PGE bill. :-)

Cuisinart DLC-2009 Prep 9 9-Cup Food Processor, White

Does a great job with no hassle
I avoided food processors in the past because the food chute was always too small, the motor wasn't up to the job, and they were a pain to clean. My fiancé bought me this food processor as a Christmas present. I'm pleased to say that we're both impressed by its appearance, thoughtful design, and performance.

The brushed stainless finish is attractive and easy to wipe clean. The handle-in-front work bowl design is accessible to me (right-handed) and him (left-handed) equally. The machine doesn't take up a huge amount of counter space, and sits securely without "walking" or shimmying even when processing heavy foods.

The work bowl has a HUGE opening that greatly reduces pre-prep knife time. However, you are not stuck using the big opening all the time. The pusher has a smaller round "sub-pusher" in it that provides a smaller opening for holding long vegetables upright or for adding liquids while in motion. The lid is secure but can be removed and replaced...

Good, solid, basic machine.
My first attempt at purchasing a food processor was to buy the $69.99 Oster. I did this because of the price. Predictably, it did not perform well and I had to return it. Perhaps Oster does better with blenders, I don't know. After doing further research, I was torn between KitchenAid and Cuisinart. There are hordes of loyal followers in each camp on this issue, and it was hard to choose based on reviews. I finally just went with Cuisinart, because it happened to be the model that my local store carried. In general, I'm happy with the product and would recommend it to other home cooks. I've only had this appliance a few months, and I don't use it every day. I probably use it once every couple weeks because it's only my husband and me so I don't cook for a crowd. I do love to prep a lot of food and then freeze it ahead because I'm a busy teacher, so the processor is a big help with that. If it were not so heavy and easier to clean, I'd probably use it more because this...

Cuisinart stole my heart from Kitchenaid!!
I'm a Kitchenaid kind of girl, so when my husband surprised me with the Cuisinart Food Processor, I was faced with quite the quandry. I began to research both the Cuisinart 2011 and the Kitchenaid 760. The reviews pointed slightly towards the Kitchenaid so I figured I'd swap mine for it. I visited a local store to compare them in person and was so disappointed to realize that the Cuisinart fits together more securely and smoothly. In denial I stared at the blades for quite some time. Finally I had to admit to myself that the Cuisinart ones were heavier. They felt better and looked more solid. Oh how I tried to convince myself that the Kitchenaid was better. But I just didn't like how the top on the Kitchenaid snapped into place. It's not as smooth. The KA comes with more tools. Surely I'd end up with the Kitchenaid.

I went home and joined the online Kitchenaid Conversation Forum. Who does this? It's a group of people who post back and forth about their devotion to...

Frigidaire FCFS201LFB Commercial 19.53 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Upright Freezer - Energy Star

Worst Purchase Ever
Where to start let's see... I am only writing this to prevent people from the headaches I had to deal with. I purchased this freezer because it was supposed to be commercial grade, but this freezer does not even stand up to regular residential use. The first one I purchased last year and about 2 months into using it, the freezer started to make a loud rattling sound part way into the motor running. It sounded like someone was using an industrial compressor next door to us. I called the manufacturer for help and was given some names of repair men; I called a few but only had 1 response. When he finally came to look at the freezer, it was not making the sound at that point so he made some "fan adjustments" and told me to call him if it kept doing it. 20 min after he left it started again, so I called him and he never returned my call nor came back. Frustrated with the situation I called costco explained what happened and they picked up the faulty freezer and I purchased a second freezer...

7.0 cu.ft. Chest Freezer

WOW !
Can't believe it got here so dang fast! Packaging was great....no damage to product. It fit perfectly into the space where I planned, which is a major big plus for me as that space is a vanishing commodity here in my trailer home.

Let it sit for an hour or two before plugging in, this allows for the compressor oils and fluids to settle. After that...it got cold pert quick. Easy opening lid top that stays in place is also a big plus. Nothing worse than trying to hold a lid open and retrieve your food from a chest one-handed. Or getting bopped in the back of the head while reaching in with both hands.

The adjustable temp dial on the front of the freezer makes it a lot easier to choose the settings of cold that we like. Minor initial frosting, but that's only because we haven't put anything in it yet. Freezers frost up a lot less when filled.

Girls are going to loading it up today. Only hope they leave me enough space for the catfish fillets...

Got this freezer for a great price and low shipping. Very pleased with the packaging, it protected the freezer beautifully! Not a scratch or dent anywhere. Worked very well and was cold in about an hour and a half after plugging it in.Nice size and looks pretty much like most freezers of this size.

terrible product
This freezer requires you to disconnect the unit 3-5 minutes after power outage or surge. (in the manual) I bought this and ruined about $80 food. Kept checking unit, after 7 days it was off 2x when I got home. If your area has surges or outages, this is NOT worth itit

Avanti CF1011PS 23 Wide 3.4 Cu. Ft. Chest Freezer - Platinum Finish

Unhappy with service- dented
This freezer arrived with a huge dent on the front door and multiple dents on the side. I have been calling Avanti's customer service line (placed on hold for 29 min) and have not had a response as to when the new freezer will arrive. They never return calls and are slow with email responses. In order to get the replacement the serial number tag has to be mailed back, which is an additional hassel. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service. I have a newborn baby and need the freezer to store my breast milk. I am currently unable to buy frozen food as the replacement has not arrived, this is hard with a new baby at home. I have asked to speak with a manager to try and resolve this issue and have not yet been contacted.

EcoSolarCool Solar Refrigerator 6.2 Cu Ft

Nice stand up solar fridge/freezer
Very nice fridge and shipping was decent for how far it had to come. I have looked for months for a stand-up solar but only could find smaller ones in the U.S. I took a gamble and it payed off as this is a great company (Many thanks to Ben) with helpful/quick responses.

I have had it hooked up (1x 200Watt/24Volt Solar Panel + 2x 12Volt Marine deep-cycle batteries connected in series to make them 1x 24Volt) now for 2 weeks with no problems at all. It is surprisingly quiet and the freezer was alot bigger than expected.

If you are looking for a good fridge for a Cabin, or just want to get off-the-grid. This is a great fridge to do it.

solid compact unit
I've been waiting for affordable units to become available for some time and now they are. quiet compressor, good lid, seals and metal lining. units can get damaged by shipping so be sure to carefully inspect the fridge.

great product
this refridge/freezer lived up to my expectations. So many before pulled more amps than rated this one's stayed at its rating. The only suggestion would be to design the shelfs to be able to hold a gallon jug of milk. The service department was excellent with thier follow up and help. Definatly will purchase future products

Frigidaire FGDS3065K 30" Slide-In Dual-Fuel Range with Quick Preheat and True Convection, White

Poor customer service
On May 7th of 2011 year I purchased a Frigidaire duel fuel range (Model #FGDS3065KW) . My short experience with the actual range has been satisfactory. My experience with Frigidaire customer service has not.

When the stove was installed, there was about 1.5" gap between the back of the stove and the wall. I went to the Frigidaire web site and found a product ([...]) which I thought would solve this problem. As you can see from the web page, the back guard is purported to work with their dual fuel slide in ranges among others. When I got the the part, I found it was not configured for dual fuel range I have.

After being ping-ponged between Frigidaire customer service and Electrolux customer service (Apparently Frigidaire is a component of Electrolux which handles parts and accessory sales for Frigidaire products), I was informed that I could ship the part back for a refund, but I would not be reimbursed for either the initial shipping costs or the the return...

YayLabs Play and Freeze Ice Cream Ball Ice Cream Maker, Quart, Blue

I'm not unreasonable, but this sucks.
I'm not unreasonable, but I'm apparently the only one who thought this ice cream ball was crummy. I bought it for my three young children and I to make ice cream, and found it to be a pain. First, the capacity is only 2 cups, which is not a lot. Second, ice cubes from a standard ice cube tray are too large to fit into the opening for the ice and salt. You either have to have a crushed ice ice maker, purchase comercial ice or spend 15 minutes crushing the ice with a meat tenderizer mallet, like I did. I hoped that 5 ice trays of ice would be enough ice, but you need at least twice that much to keep the ball filled for the time required.

The instructions for the ball say that after ten minutes of mixing, to stir the ice cream. Sounds easy, but after you pry the lid off (with a special wrench they include with the ball so the ice cream mix can splatter everywhere) you have less than a 3 inch diameter to stir ice cream which is liquid on the inside core and frozen solid on the...

Have a Ball!! (and make ice cream)
I received the Ice Cream Ball (in Green) for Mother's Day after I mentioned it would be fun to have when I saw it on the Food Network. Even though it does not make a large amount of ice cream, it makes enough to satisfy one's cravings without going to all the trouble of a normal ice cream maker. You put ice and rock salt in one end and the ice cream mix in the other. I made vanilla the first time. Then my family and I went outside and rolled the ball, tossed it short distances to one another (it is much too heavy with all the ice to throw far,) and generally shook the heck out of it. I did have to drain the melted ice once and refill with more ice and rock salt. After 20-25 minutes I opened the ice cream container and ice cream had been made. It was a little soupy in the middle, but I had to scrape the sides to get the solid portion out. If I would have "played" with the ball a little more all of the mix would have been solid. This method of making home-made ice cream...

Ice Cream Ball review
I liked the ice cream ball. It makes delicious vanilla ice cream with little work. Myself and my children shook and rolled it for about 8 minutes and them we just let it sit for a while to stay cold in the refrigerator. I then took it out, shook it some more, stirred it with a small wooden spoon and served it up (this worked for us). It was very good with half and half, but would probably be more creamy with cream. There are two things I would change about it: the company should include some kind of scooping device that will easily scrape the frozen ice cream off the sides without ruining the barrel, also I would make the opening for the ice a little bigger to accommodate regular size ice cubes. Crushed ice works the best, but you may have to buy it. Overall, we enjoyed this item and it was pretty easy to use and clean up. It makes 1 pint of ice cream which was well enough for three children or a couple adults. If it had a scooper and a wider opening for the ice I would have given it...

Samsung 5.9 cu. ft. Electric Range (Black) - FE-R300SB

Piece of junk
The glass top scratches easily. Any and all pan bottoms leave stains on the black glass. After a spill, the mess is impossible to clean up without scratching the glass. Plastic scrubbies and glass top cleaners don't clean up spills. The range is tinny and makes a tinny sound when I touch it. The porcelain on the oven bottom cracked and pitted after the first use. Samsung is taking it back.

Solid but clunky - old fashioned design with a veneer of modernity
As three stars suggests, "its ok"
Even though this a 21st century cooker/range, its designers obviously long for the happy 60's of thier youth.
And they have achieved this in this range.
So apart from a few lights (perhaps even an LED !), and a not too good (cheap) ceramic surface this is a good solid 1960-70's cooker.

Perhaps in the near future we can look forward to a 1980's style range which does not smugly click and hum to itself !
i.e. clunky controls, but solid

CF65 Freezer

Great space saver!!
I've had this appliance for several years now, and it turned out to be a great little freezer - perfect dimensions for a bachelor in a small apartment. It really helped take the pressure off of my storage requirements. This thing fit perfectly between my refrigerator and my kitchen table and left room to spare! I was a little hesitant to buy any appliance like this that did not have automatic defrost, but surprisingly excessive frosting has not been a problem. I've only defrosted once in four years, and I only did that because I was doing major inventory of my stocks and had them all out to begin with.

The unit came with a handy dandy insert cage, so you can pile stuff in the cage while rearranging your stores in the compartment. This unit did not even make a blip on my over all electric bill, so no matter what the energy star rating is on this unit it still saves a lot on power. I hardly ever hear it kick on, and it is so quiet, I probably don't notice most of the...

Love this freezer
I just got my freezer. After doing much research I decided on the Avanti 2.1 cf Chest Freezer. I almost bought the 1.3 freezer from another company but after reading complaints that stated the freezer unit was in the storage area which left little actual freezer unit. It also would not seem to be worth the money to buy such a small freezer that can hold little.

This unit is great and perfect for a small 660 sq. ft. apt. It is The unit was well packed and had no dents upon arrival. I plugged it in and it seems to be working. Lights are on, the walls are cool. The top door is better than the front door units as the design is more energy efficient. I was able to clear out my fridge freezer that stored my frozen staples (chicken, beef, pork, veggies for the new freezer. Now I can actually buy frozen foods that I can have more readily available when I don't feel like cooking or cook meals.
