Very Quiet, Easy to Install
Installation of this fan was simple and "no" balancing of blades was required even though balancing tools were included if needed. Although there is wind noise at the highest speed, the motor of this Hunter fan is very very quiet, even at the lowest speeds (The motor of my previous fan emitted an annoying buzzing noise at the lowest speed and this is the primary reason I replaced it). The 60 inch blades push a nice volume of air even at the lowest speed setting. Because this fan only has two Candelabra light fixtures, I was concerned that it wouldn't provide enough light for my great room and that I wouldn't be able to use compact florescent bulbs. However, I was able to find compact florescent bulbs that fit the Candelabra light fixtures. These two bulbs provide just the right amount of light, ..not to bright, not to dim. The bowl for the light fixture disperses the light nicely to provide a pleasant light throughout the room and I find this to be far superior than fixtures...
Great looking fan, easy to install, works well but light level is weak
I purchased and installed this fan in May of 2011 as a replacement for an old fixture in my new home.
SUMMARY
Fan looks great.
Installation was average for ceiling fans.
Fan runs very quiet.
Light level is weak.
INSTALLATION
Having installed several ceiling fans before, this one offered a typical level of difficulty and did not have any surprises. The instructions supplied with the kit were adequate in the level of detail and the pictures included. As with many fans made by Hunter, they include some extra screws and/or grommets. I consider this an advantage...but if you aren't aware they are extra, I could understand someone's frustration thinking they failed to use all the appropriate parts.
NOISE LEVEL
This fan is extremely quiet. I was pleasantly surprised by how quietly it runs, even on high.
LIGHTING LEVEL
This was my only area of disappointment for this product. The lighting assembly only has two...
Hunter Grant Park Ceiling Fan
Both fans arrived in excellent conditon. Fans have seen limited use so far, but seem to be operating as expected. The only anomaly so far is that one fan appears to operate at a slightly different speed from the other fan. Both fans are connected to the same variable speed control, so both fans should operate at the same speed. But it appears that one fan spins faster than the other fan. When shut off, one fan takes longer to coast to stand still than the other fan. Other than the speed differences, the Hunter Grant Park is an excellent looking fan and works nicely.
